The AirX Story

Every space has a story.
Most never get to tell it.

01 — The Belief

Places change people.

Walk into any great space — a welcome center, a museum hall, a historic main street, an overlook at golden hour — and you can feel it: the pride of a place, its character, its touch. HootBoard was built on a simple conviction: when people truly connect with a space, amazing things happen. A trail gets hiked. A festival gets found. A family wanders into the small café that becomes the story they tell back home.

02 — The Problem

But most spaces whisper.

The character of a destination too often stays hidden — folded into brochure racks, trapped behind a counter that closes at five, scattered across websites nobody opens mid-trip. The place has a personality, a touch, a voice. Visitors just walk past it.

03 — The Pursuit

What if a space could speak for itself?

That question carried us through hundreds of visitor centers, museums, trailheads, campuses, and downtowns. The answer, we learned, needed three things at once: a form beautiful enough to belong anywhere a destination is proud of, software with local soul, and intelligence that feels human — a concierge, not a computer. Anything less becomes furniture people ignore.

04 — The Result

AirX is that belief, made solid.

Aluminum with the calm of good architecture. A screen that floats like a gallery piece. And inside, an AI concierge that learns your destination's stories and greets every visitor like your best local guide on their best day. Not a kiosk in a corner — the voice of the place, wherever people and places meet: the welcome center, the waterfront, the museum lobby, the town square.

Because when a place finally gets to tell its story,
people fall in love with it.

The Hardware

Designed to disappear
into the moment.

Most kiosks look like vending machines. AirX looks like it belongs in a gallery — so your visitors walk up, not past.

HootBoard AirX kiosk, three-quarter view

A display that floats

A slim 4K portrait touchscreen — your choice of 49 or 55 inches — with rounded corners appears to hover between two minimalist aluminum columns — no bulky cabinet, no visible cables.

Sculpted to stand its ground

The gently curved plinth base is engineered for busy lobbies: stable, elegant, and effortless to place — no bolts, no construction, no drama. Short on floor space? AirX also mounts flush to the wall.

Matte graphite aluminum

A fingerprint-friendly, architectural finish that complements any interior — from historic welcome centers to modern airports.

Connected, discreetly

Integrated antennas keep AirX online over Wi-Fi or cellular, so it works beautifully even where IT infrastructure doesn't.

The Anatomy

Every detail, considered.

From the antenna tips to the sculpted plinth, every part of AirX is engineered for years of public life.

The Software — HootBoard OS

Beautiful outside.
Brilliant inside.

Every AirX runs HootBoard OS — the Destination Platform, on glass. A growing library of visitor-engagement apps, powered by the same cloud that runs your mobile, web, and signage channels — managed by your team, no technical skills required.

City Guide

Curated things to do, places to eat, and hidden gems — your destination's best, one tap away.

Interactive Wayfinding

Searchable maps visitors can explore on screen — then scan to take walking directions with them.

Events Calendar

Auto-synced from Google Calendar or Eventbrite. What's on today, this weekend, this season.

Selfie Wall

The built-in camera turns visitors into ambassadors — branded photos they share, tagged with your destination.

Local Business Promotion

Feature partners, deals, and member businesses — and create a new revenue stream for your DMO.

Visitor Analytics

See what visitors actually search, tap, and scan. Walk into your board meeting with real engagement data.

The Destination Platform

HootBoard OS is the surface.
The Platform is the system.

The OS your visitors touch isn't standalone kiosk software — it's the HootBoard Destination Platform rendering on a 4K touchscreen. The same system carries your story to every screen you own, measures what visitors want, and helps the kiosk pay for itself.

Built for Destinations

For the moment every
visitor asks: "what's next?"

A destination is bigger than one building — and you can't staff a knowledgeable local at every door. AirX puts your destination's best answers at every point of interest.

01 — WELCOME

A concierge that never clocks out

Before opening, after closing, during the rush — AirX greets every visitor with instant answers, easing the load on your front-desk team.

02 — GUIDE

From screen to street

Visitors browse on the big screen, scan a QR, and leave with itineraries, maps, and events in their pocket. The experience follows them out the door.

03 — LEARN

Know what visitors want

Every interaction becomes insight: which attractions, events, and businesses your visitors care about most — data your DMO can act on and report.

Wraps & Liveries

Every destination has its colors.
AirX wears them proudly.

The graphite AirX is designed to belong anywhere. It can also become somewhere — wrapped head to toe in your destination's livery, its screen themed to match, so visitors see a piece of the place itself, not a vendor's machine.

Concept liveries shown — every wrap and screen theme is designed around your destination's own brand.

Themed on screen

The interface opens in your brand — your welcome imagery, colors, wordmark, and voice. Visitors never see ours.

Wrapped in the body

A full-body wrap dresses the aluminum in your livery — the state's palette, the town seal, the shoreline's light — and can change when your brand does.

Unmistakably yours

From across the lobby it reads as your destination, not a device. The kiosk disappears; the place steps forward.

Augmented Reality

Place it in your lobby.
Right now.

This is the actual AirX — rendered from its engineering CAD model. Spin it around, then use your phone to see it standing in your own space, at true size.

Drag to rotate · Pinch or scroll to zoom

Scan with your phone

Point your camera at the code, tap “View in your space”, and AirX appears in your lobby at its real height — walk around it, stand next to it, show your team.

Works with iPhone (AR Quick Look) and Android (Scene Viewer). No app needed.
